Trade boards and trade leads
Every trade has its own board, answered to by one trade lead. Here is how to read it and enter on it.
Assign a trade lead
- Open Trade leads (Settings > Trade leads only, or Trade leads in the project menu) and find the trade's board.
- Under Trade lead pick the person from 'Person on this project', then fill in company and phone. Press Assign lead.
- The list holds only people who already have a role on this project. Their name and email come from their account.
- Someone new? An administrator adds them and gives them a role on the project first (People); then they appear in the list.
- The person picked becomes LEAD on the board straight away.
- Assigning someone new takes the board away from the old lead. A board always answers to one person.
- Remove lead clears it. The board then shows NOT ASSIGNED.
- Every assignment and removal goes to the security log with who made it and when.
Only the PM and the CM of the project assign leads. The master board lists who leads each trade.
Read your board
- A trade lead starts on their own board when they sign in.
- The feed strip at the top shows when each feed last arrived: STALE is late, NEVER is not loaded yet.
- Exceptions requiring attention are the items to act on first.
- Other trades' items show only when tied in, flagged with their home trade.
- A figure with no source shows MISSING. Calculated figures say so and name their inputs.
Enter on your board
- Scroll to 'Enter on this board' (or use the link at the top).
- Watch list: add or change an item. Record a decision. Add a shift turnover. Add a field log entry. Record a safety observation.
- Your name is filled in from your sign-in. Every entry keeps who made it.
- To raise a change order for the PM and CM, use 'Raise a change order for the PM and CM' on the board.
Foreman view on the phone
- Open Foreman view from the top of the board.
- It shows next shifts, lifts, drawings to check, overdue items, turnover, field log and safety.
- The bar at the bottom of the phone jumps to Shifts, Turnover, Field log, Safety, and a red Stop work button.
