Rigging and lift plans

Every lift by equipment tag, with the weight, rigging, crane and people, and the checks the platform runs.

Lift plans

Make a lift plan

  1. Open Safety, then Lift plans, and press New lift plan.
  2. Load: equipment tag, item weight and where it came from (certified, drawing, calculated, estimated). Estimates are planned 10% heavy.
  3. Rigging by tag, the crane and set-up, radius, pick and set points, exclusion zone and wind limit.
  4. People: lift director, operator, rigger and signal person. Press Save lift plan.

Checks and approval

  1. The platform adds rigging and hook block to the weight, reads the load chart at the next radius out, and checks each sling and shackle at the sling angle.
  2. Over 75% of the chart, a tandem pick or a load over people is a critical lift: it needs a lift review and PM, CM or superintendent approval.
  3. A plan with a failed check cannot be approved, and nobody approves their own plan.
  4. After the lift, Record the lift as made.

The arithmetic is a cross-check. The crane chart, rigging ratings and the qualified lift director's sign-off govern the lift.
